Two $4000 scholarships will be awarded annually to entering freshmen. One scholarship will be awarded to an incoming Coastal Studies major and one to a Maritime Studies major. Candidates must rank in the top 15% of their graduating class or have a minimum GPA of 3.2, have achieved a minimum combined SAT score of 1100/1600 (Critical Reading and Math scores only), or an ACT composite score of 24+. Candidates who have demonstrated a commitment to ocean focused/maritime programs or initiatives in school or community will be given priority consideration. All candidates will be reviewed on the basis of their UConn application (no separate application necessary) and priority consideration will be given to candidates who apply for Fall admission by December 1. Award recipients must attend the Avery Point campus for four years. These scholarships are applicable to U.S. citizens and permanent residents only.
